I am interested in an art practice that explores creative possibilities and ideas with objects. Objects can be powerful things that connect us to people and place. My educational and work background is in both visual arts and humanities, with a degree in Visual Arts and Art History, I am intrigued by how people relate and interact with objects in different social and cultural ways.
My work often explores social and collaborative practices between people and objects, beginning with my graduate show Possession. Over the last seven years, I have formed several collaborative partnerships with local artists who I admire and enjoy working with, including, Raspberry Productions, Project 21 and Free Range Arts Collective.
After completing my Bachelor of Arts and Media in 2016, I was accepted into the two-year contemporary jewellery mentorship programme, The Handshake Project. My mentor was London based sculptor Francis Upritchard. You can follow my professional and studio development over this time here
I live and work out of my studio in Whakatū Nelson where I exhibit both locally and nationally. Recent projects include co-developing Nelson Jewellery Week, with a special interest in Buildings Need Jewellery project. I am also the creative founder of Viewfinder Window, a mobile artist run initiative based out of a street window that supports local and national contemporary art practices.
